Stratified Seed

Here we offer stratified, ready to plant tree seeds. These seeds are from the same stock we use in the nursery. We do our best to source our seed from exceptional local trees when possible or from high quality trusted sources when we cannot source them locally. It is our goal to improve the genetic quality of our offerings each season so you can be sure that you are working with high quality trees. Seed selection will vary season to season depending on what we have chosen to grow and also on seed availability (in mast years we may have an abundance of butternuts, for example, but in other years we may not have them at all). Seeds are stratified right here on the farm and shipped out when stratification is complete (typically March to April). They are ready to go in the ground when they arrive at your door.

Growing trees from seed is a very gratifying experience and if you are willing to put in some time and a little effort it can also save you some money. We've done the work of gathering and stratifying the seed for you, all that's left to do is put these future trees in the ground!
